SEGA Stars Join Sonic Rumble in Epic First Crossover!

Sonic Rumble has yet to launch globally, but it's already making waves with its exciting crossover event dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is live now and will run until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide launch scheduled for May 8th.

Currently, Sonic Rumble is in its soft launch phase and accessible in over 40 countries. It first saw a pre-launch phase in the Summer of 2024 in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase expanded to countries such as Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.

What’s in Store?

If you're located in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The Altered Beast crew makes a grand return, with the Werewolf transformation available completely free.

For fans of nostalgic beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon transformations are also up for grabs, though their acquisition methods differ. The Weredragon comes with the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can potentially be purchased with regular rings.

Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will be delighted to see Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa joining the fray. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, and Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments purchased with standard rings, at 700 rings per fragment.

Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have made their way into the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. To get AiAi, you'll need 729 Red Star Rings. For a sneak peek at the event, check out the video below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

You can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. Although it might seem unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has assured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will return post-launch.

It's thrilling to see Sonic Rumble's inaugural crossover event delve into SEGA's rich history and present lineup. The mix of monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed warriors interacting with Sonic and friends adds a promising flair to the game.
