The Last Knight side quest in Wuthering Waves adds a delightful layer of depth to the Rinascita region, offering a more intimate look into life beyond Ragunna City. While it may not boast the epic scale of the main quest or expansive exploration missions, it compensates with engaging storytelling and rewarding loot.
Compared to quests like Where Wind Returns To Celestial Realms in WuWa, The Last Knight is notably straightforward and less time-consuming. Below is a comprehensive guide to help you navigate this intriguing side quest.
Starting The Last Knight Quest
To embark on The Last Knight quest, you must first complete Chapter 2 in its entirety, including the quest What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing. We recommend finishing the main storyline before delving into Rinascita, as many side quests, including this one, are unlocked after Chapter 2 Act 3.
Once you've completed the required quests, make your way to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven. Look for Cosimo, who should be standing in front of the first house along the main road exiting the town. A blue quest marker on your map will guide you to him.
The Night Reveries
The Night Reveries are a unique performance honoring a knight who vanquished a giant in Whisperwind Haven. As part of the quest, you'll participate in this ritual by confronting the Mad Knight.
The Mad Knight only emerges at night. Advance time to between 18:00 and 06:00 the next day, and then proceed to the central pool in town. The Mad Knight isn't an exceptionally tough foe, so unleash your full arsenal to defeat it efficiently.
The Last Knight: Mimic Chests
After defeating the Mad Knight, head to the tallest tower in town and follow the quest marker to reach Carlow. You'll find him unconscious beside a large, purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to another realm, where you must identify the mimic among several chests.
The initial three supply chests are genuine. In the subsequent set, only one chest is real, located in the second position from the left in the middle row. Opening the correct chest will reward you with Astrites and other valuable items, but be prepared to fend off the mimic attacks that follow.
The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent
After overcoming the effects of the purple flower, your next task is to visit the second and third locations associated with the legendary Mad Knight. This segment involves following quest markers and engaging with NPCs.
Upon speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will alert you to a peculiar scent emanating from a nearby area. Follow the quest marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop accompanied by an invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. We suggest equipping a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot to effectively parry and stun the Chop Chop.
Once the Chop Chop is defeated, Mr. Millkeeper will reveal that the legend of the knight was a fabrication; he and other Windmill Keepers were the true protectors. This revelation sends Carlow running away, struggling with the truth.
Find Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day to locate Carlow in one of the town's plazas. You'll find him facing a pair of knights who mock him. Instead of retreating, Carlow vows to defend his beliefs and challenges one of the men to a duel, symbolizing his transition from romantic idealism to embracing the genuine essence of protection.
The quest concludes after Carlow's challenge, leaving you with a wealth of Union XP, Astrites, and other resources. Completing The Last Knight also marks your progress in the Tales of the Isles event.
