Begin your journey by speaking with Botim, situated south of the Rinascita-Ragunna-Thessaleo Fells northern Resonance Beacon. He'll explain the plight of his ancestral site, infested with shadowy creatures emerging from three towers. Completing his request initiates the Shadow of the Past quest.

Thorncrown Rises Tower Locations

The quest is divided into three sub-quests, each focused on a specific tower:

• Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise: Located northeast of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise: Situated south of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise: Found southwest of Thorncrown Rises.

Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise

This sub-quest begins by interacting with Itzel, east of the Resounding Rise Tower. Inside, navigate the tower as follows:

1. Interact with the painting at the hallway's end.
2. Follow the quest marker to engage the Abyssal Mercator. Defeat it and collect the nearby supply chests.
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2, encountering the Abyssal Mercator again in different rooms.
4. Follow the quest marker, defeat the Abyssal Mercator, and interact with the painting behind it.
5. Open the chest to stop the shooting enemies and defeat the blocking enemy.

Next, solve the painting puzzle:

1. Move the top-left painting to the bottom-right display.
2. Move the painting behind the top-left display to the bottom-left display.
3. Move the top-right painting to the top-left display.
4. Move the painting behind the bottom-right display to the top-right display.
5. Collect the Premium Supply chest.

Finally, engage the Abyssal Mercator one last time, speak to Itzel, collect the Tidal Supply chest, and weaken the first Command Rise Tower barrier.

Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise

Proceed southeast to the Twilight Rise Tower and speak to Insula to enter. Follow the quest marker until you encounter a loop. Then:

1. Investigate the three marked spots.
2. Speak to Insula.
3. Enter the secret passage.
4. Defeat the Abyssal Patricius and collect the supply chest.
5. Engage the Abyssal Patricius again.
6. Speak to Insula.
7. Collect the Tidal Supply chest.

This completes the sub-quest and weakens the second Command Rise Tower barrier.

Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise

This sub-quest automatically begins after completing the previous two.

1. Speak to Insula and Itzel northeast of the Command Rise Tower.
2. Use the Wingray to fly to the tower.
3. Enter the tower and follow the quest marker.
4. Collect supply chests along the way.
5. Use the grapple to ascend, defeating enemies and collecting more chests.
6. Engage the Abyssal Patricius and collect the final chest. Use the chandelier mechanism to reach the top.

At the top, discover Liel's fate, speak to Insula and Itzel, and use the portal to fight the Abyssal Patricius. Claim the Call of the Abyss Rectifier and Premium Supply chest. Exiting via the portal and speaking to your companions awards the King of Thessaleo and Shadow of the Tower achievements.
