To deliver its full functionality, Poweramp requires several permissions:

• Modify or delete contents of shared storage – Required to read/write media files, playlists, album art, CUE files, and LRC files (especially on older Android versions)
• Foreground Service – Enables uninterrupted background music playback
• Modify system settings / Disable screen lock / Appear on top of other apps – Optional; used to enable Lock Screen playback
• Prevent phone from sleeping – Ensures continuous playback on older Android devices
• Full network access – Needed to search for album covers and stream HTTP content, including Chromecast support
