Audio visual lessons for evangelism and basic Bible teaching

Based on the Sunday School Lessons published by the AIC Sunday School Committee, Juba, Southern Sudan.

Adapted for general use by Global Recordings Network Australia, with permission of the Africa Inland Church, Sudan.

The lessons are designed to be used alongside the audio visual picture books available from Global Recordings Network.

These lessons were created in response to requests from young people who had been asked to teach Sunday School but lacked resources. The accompanying pictures serve as a vital visual aid, making the stories more engaging and understandable for children.

This app focuses specifically on the lesson portion of Sunday School, with each session designed to last approximately twenty minutes. Additional elements such as singing, prayer, Bible reading, quizzes, and interactive activities are not included here, allowing teachers the flexibility to plan these according to their context. We encourage ending each lesson with a short prayer and a song that reflects the lesson’s theme.

The lessons are tailored for children aged 7 to 12, covering a broad developmental range. When first developed, teachers manually copied each lesson into exercise books week by week, which is why the original content was kept concise. While some lessons have since been expanded, the goal remains to provide a clear, concise outline that teachers can enrich during their personal preparation.

Each lesson begins with a stated aim, clearly printed at the top, to guide the teaching focus. Given the age group, it's not possible to present the full depth of God’s truth in every session. Instead, teachers are encouraged to emphasize one or two key truths per lesson, allowing children to grow in their understanding of God progressively over time.

These lessons are not meant to be read aloud verbatim to the class. Rather, they are intended as a helpful guide—a walking stick for the teacher, not a crutch.
