"Assassin's Creed Shadows: Free Updates and DLC Roadmap Revealed"

Author : Victoria Update:May 29,2025

Ubisoft has shared its plans for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising new features such as new game+, additional difficulty settings, and more story content. In a recent four-and-a-half-minute video update, the team outlined their roadmap for 2025, providing a clear timeline for upcoming releases.

The initial release includes The Works of Luis Frois, the first of several free story expansions, scheduled for early May. This update will be complemented by a Codex enhancement, quality-of-life improvements, and notable additions like parkour upgrades and a photo mode update. Ubisoft emphasized their commitment to listening to player feedback, ensuring continuous refinement and feature integration based on community input.

Additional story content will roll out in June, along with enhanced difficulty modes, immersive gameplay options, and an open-world alarm system. Players can also expect choices regarding headgear visibility in cutscenes. Further updates are anticipated throughout the year, including new game+ support, collaborations, and more surprises.

The highlight of the roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, planned for later in the year. Set to introduce a 10-hour campaign featuring the Bo staff weapon and a new region for Naoe and Yasuke to explore, pricing details remain unconfirmed. However, pre-orders holders will receive this expansion at no extra cost.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 20, marking Ubisoft's debut in Feudal Japan. The game has been well-received, earning a spot on our list of the best games of 2025 and becoming the best-selling title of last month.
