Seka – A Card Game

Seka, also known by various names such as Sikka, Sichka, Strekoza, Trinka, Trynka, Drynka, Three Leaves, Two Leaves, and others, is a captivating card game that brings excitement to any gathering.

Features:

• Number of Players: The game can be enjoyed by 2 to 10 players.
• Deck: A full deck of 52 cards is used. For games with up to 4 players, only 20 cards are used (from Tens to Aces). For 5 to 10 players, 36 cards are used (from Sixes to Aces).
• Joker: A card, typically a Six, is designated as the Joker by mutual agreement among players.
• Card Values:
  • Joker and Ace: 11 points
  • King to Ten: 10 points
  • Lower cards: Standard nominal value

The player with the highest total score at the end wins.

Rules of the Game:

• Dealer Selection: The dealer is determined by a draw. Players contribute a pre-agreed amount to the pot.
• Dealing: The dealer gives each player three cards. Players then decide whether to discard or play.
• Scoring: Points are counted for cards of the same suit – known as "hlyust" (e.g., a Seven and a Jack of Clubs score 17 points). If no cards match, only the highest card's points are counted.
• Tricon/Trinka: Holding three cards of the same rank (tricon or trinka) always scores higher than any hlyust, but less than a higher tricon.
• Bidding: Bidding starts with the player to the dealer's right. Subsequent players can fold, match, or raise the bid.
• Revealing Cards: After the bidding round, the first player decides whether to continue bidding or reveal cards.
• Winning the Pot: The pot goes to the player with the highest score. In case of a tie, players decide whether to split the pot or start a new round ("svora").
• Svora: A new round with the same pot plus an additional 1/N contribution (N = previous pot's total). Other players can join by contributing.
• Bluffing: Players can bluff by raising the bid with a lower score. If successful, they win the pot without revealing their cards.
• Dark Bet: The player next to the dealer can place an additional "dark bet" of any size without looking at their cards. Subsequent players must double this bet to continue.
