Application Description

If you're a chess enthusiast, you're likely familiar with Fritz, the legendary chess engine that has been a staple in the chess community for decades. Originally compact enough to fit on a "floppy disk" — a relic of the past many young players might not even recognize — Fritz first gained fame by winning the Computer Chess World Championship in 1995. Distributed on CD ROMs, it quickly became a global phenomenon. The latest iteration, Fritz 15, is renowned for being one of the strongest multi-core engines in existence.

Excitingly, you can now enjoy playing against Fritz on your mobile devices!

Chess is all about enjoyment, and the Fritz App offers a variety of playing modes to cater to different skill levels. On the "Amateur" level, you'll find it relatively easy to secure a victory. Step up to the "Club Player" level for more challenging and realistic games, where Fritz will engage you with tactical combinations. For a real test of your skills, switch to "Master" mode, where Fritz will be well-versed in every opening variation from master games. But don't worry — with the innovative "Assisted Play" feature, you'll receive subtle hints and be safeguarded against simple mistakes, giving you a fighting chance against this formidable opponent.
