Hanafuda Koikoi is a traditional Japanese card game that has captured the hearts of many players. The English version of Hanafuda Koi-Koi brings this classic game to a broader audience.

Koi-Koi, which translates to "come on" in Japanese, is a popular way to play Hanafuda, the traditional Japanese playing cards, with two players. The objective of the game is to form specific card combinations, known as "yaku," from the cards collected in a point pile before your opponent does. Players build their point piles by matching cards from their hand or the draw pile with those on the table.

Once a player forms a yaku, they have the option to either stop and claim their points or continue playing to create more yaku for higher scores, a move known as "koi-koi." The individual card values don't directly affect the score but are crucial in determining their worth in forming yaku. This strategic decision-making and the thrill of potentially increasing your score make Koi-Koi an engaging and exciting game.
