Koikoi is an engaging game played with Hanafuda, the traditional Japanese playing cards, offering a blend of strategy and luck. Here's how to dive into the fun of Koikoi:

To play Koikoi, players take turns discarding a card onto the table. If the card you play matches the month of any cards already on the table, you can claim those cards. The key to scoring in Koikoi is to collect sets of cards that form a flush, which means having all four cards of a specific month. When you achieve a flush, you have the option to end the round and score points based on the cards you've collected, or you can choose to continue playing (hence the name "Koikoi," which means "come on" in Japanese), aiming for a higher score at the risk of losing what you've already earned.

If neither player can score at the end of a round, it's considered a "no game," and no points are awarded. The ultimate goal is to accumulate more points than your opponent over the course of 12 games, which constitutes a complete match.

For convenience, Koikoi games often feature an automatic save function, ensuring that your progress and records are preserved for future play sessions.
