MauMau, a captivating card game that echoes the thrill of Crazy Eights, enjoys widespread popularity in Germany. Played with a streamlined deck of 32 cards, each participant starts with a hand of 5 or 6 cards. The essence of MauMau lies in its race to discard all cards first, crowning the swiftest player as the victor. Gameplay unfolds in turns, with each player compelled to match either the suit or the value of the card last played. However, MauMau adds a layer of strategy with its special cards. Encountering a seven means the next player must draw two cards, while an eight forces them to forfeit their turn. The jack stands out as a versatile card, playable on any other card, allowing the player to dictate the next suit in play.
