Universal Pictures has unveiled the first image of Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated film, The Odyssey, showcasing Hollywood star Matt Damon in the iconic role of Odysseus. Following the monumental success of his 2023 biopic Oppenheimer, Nolan's next venture is a modern retelling of the ancient Greek epic poem, originally penned in the 8th or 7th century BC. The Odyssey is slated for a grand release on July 17, 2026.

The official synopsis describes The Odyssey as a mythic action epic that has been filmed worldwide using cutting-edge IMAX film technology. This marks the first time Homer's foundational saga will be brought to IMAX screens, promising an immersive experience for audiences everywhere on its release date of July 17, 2026.
