Capcom has decided to extend the beta period for Monster Hunter Wilds following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the game's previous testing session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until 24 hours later. In response to the outage, Sony compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.
The downtime affected not only online multiplayer games but also single-player titles that required server authentication or a constant internet connection. The second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was cut short due to the PSN issues. In light of this, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session. The new session will now run from Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14 at 3am GMT to Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / Tuesday, February 18 at 2:59 am GMT.
During this extended period, participants will still be eligible for the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full version of the game, as confirmed by Capcom. Despite the previous downtime, players were able to engage with the game's new challenge, a formidable creature known as Arkveld.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
