Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's January 9th Update Addresses Player Feedback and Implements Significant Changes
Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, directly addressing player concerns regarding recent changes to the Zombies Directed Mode. Key changes include the reversal of a controversial spawn delay adjustment and substantial buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Further bug fixes and adjustments are slated for the Season 2 update on January 28th.
The January 3rd update introduced alterations to the Citadelle des Morts Zombies map's Directed Mode, significantly increasing the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This alteration met with considerable player backlash, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion. Community concerns regarding potential future limitations to XP and rewards were also voiced.
Treyarch's January 9th patch notes confirm the reversal of the Directed Mode spawn delay change, restoring it to approximately 20 seconds at most after five looped rounds. The developers explicitly stated that the original change proved unenjoyable for the player base. Alongside this, several bug fixes were implemented for Citadelle des Morts Directed Mode, resolving issues affecting quest progression and stamp-related glitches. Visual effects glitches and crashes associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud were also addressed.
The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received significant enhancements, including a 20% increase in normal enemy activation rate, a 7% boost for special enemies, and a further 7% increase in elite enemy activation rate when using the Big Game Augment. The cooldown timer was also reduced by 25%, substantially increasing the Mod's effectiveness.
Black Ops 6 Season 2, launching January 28th, will include additional bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. Players are encouraged to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before the end of Season 1 Reloaded.
