Capcom Launches First-Ever Game Development Competition for Students

Boosting the Game Industry's Future
This groundbreaking competition provides Japanese university, graduate, and vocational school students a unique opportunity to collaborate on game development using the cutting-edge RE ENGINE. Teams of up to 20 students, each assigned roles mirroring professional game development, will have six months to create a game. Capcom developers will provide mentorship and guidance, ensuring participants gain invaluable experience in modern game development techniques. Winning teams will receive support for potential game commercialization.

- Application Period: December 9, 2024 - January 17, 2025 (unless otherwise stated).
- Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in a Japanese university, graduate school, or vocational school.
The Power of RE ENGINE
RE ENGINE, also known as Reach for the Moon Engine, is Capcom's in-house engine, first utilized in the 2017 release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Its capabilities have been showcased in numerous subsequent Capcom titles, including other Resident Evil installments, Dragon's Dogma 2, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds. The engine undergoes continuous development to maintain its cutting-edge status.
