Rebellion's art director, Ryan Greene, acknowledges these comparisons, noting that the team anticipated them from the game's initial reveal. He explains that the similarities stem from the shared theme of survival in a post-apocalyptic world, a genre where Fallout has set a high benchmark.
However, Atomfall is far more than a British Fallout clone. As IGN highlighted last August, Atomfall offers a unique and compelling experience. Greene emphasizes that the Fallout comparison is misleading, stating that gameplay quickly reveals Atomfall's distinct identity. He points out that Rebellion, an independent studio behind the Sniper Elite series, is not Bethesda, and Atomfall, while ambitious for the studio, isn't aiming for the scale of an Elder Scrolls or Fallout title.
